- Lookin At Lucky might have had a horrible trip at the Breeders' Cup but he got the perfect set-up in the G1-CashCall Futurity at Hollywood last weekend, and in the process clinched the title of two year old champion. Noble's Promise was a solid second after a going wide into the first turn but he was, in my opinion, clearly second best.
- The G1-Starlet was won in impressive fashion by Blind Luck; she wasn't just the best, she was the best by a mile. Blind Luck instantly shoots to the top of the contenders for the Kentucky Oaks after dominating a solid field after going five wide on the final turn.
- Some decent stakes action this week but the first big weekend of the 2010 occurs on January 9th when Gulfstream and Santa Anita get things rolling in pretty much every division. Oaklawn will kick things off shortly thereafter.
"My UPS-guy tells. Guys who own the horses are regular customers. Every horse he has ever given me has won. See, they've been sandbagging and looking for a good spot. He's been getting it light cause they've been using a bug boy and the workout hasn't been published. Now they are ready to run with it. They are gonna break his maiden. It's going to go to great price, maybe 30:1. I'm telling you, it's a lock."
